Lynn Schultz - Natural Health and Nutrition Advocate
Lynn is the Health Editor for The Healthy Herald and Wellness Week. While her formal education is in business, Lynn’s mission is nutrition. She is driven to help you get the best information, find inspiration … and live life abundantly with maximum vitality.
Lynn’s interest in nutrition developed out of a lifelong struggle with being overweight. She lived in constant fear of food … viewing it as the enemy! Yo-yo dieting became a way of life. And that took its toll on her health in many ways. Relationships suffered. Career goals were derailed. Fatigue and depression “cancelled out” many of life’s potential pleasures. Eventually, her health eroded—and she was bedridden for three years with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue.
When traditional medicine failed to help, she received a shot of clear thinking from her mother. As a younger woman, her mom regained health by eating fresh foods and by taking a specific nutritional supplement regimen recommended by her doctor. With mom’s support and the guidance of Dr. Marshall Ringsdorf, Lynn regained health and discovered the truth: your nutrition can determine whether you are grouchy or cheerful, homely or beautiful, whether you think clearly or are confused, enjoy your work or make it a drudgery. Nutrition is the key to not only how you look and feel, but also how you act and think! Everything good in life … all healthy things … depend on a strong nutritional foundation. That’s why Lynn is so passionate about helping you improve your nutrition.
Lynn has been quoted or appeared in publications like SkyMall and Beauty by God. And over the past few years, she has appeared weekly on national television and radio offering help on topics such as:
- Standing Tall: The natural nutrients you need for beautiful bones
- Let’s Get Healthy: The age-defying antioxidants for a younger you
- You’re Emotional: Here’s why you need pure Omega-3 fish oil for mood and mind health
- Where Beauty Starts: The inside out approach to healthier hair, younger skin, and stronger nails
- Forget Fatigue: How to get your energy edge with LifeQ10—the new Co-Q10 breakthrough
- Nutritional Synergy for Energy: Why a single nutrient cannot carry the load
- Let’s Be Clear: Blemishes and wrinkles are more than skin deep
She is the author of the upcoming book …The Food Facelift … and a founder of Healthy TV http://www.healthy.tv, the only on-demand television network for anti-aging and wellness enthusiasts. Healthy TV’s mission is to help men and women look and feel their best, and live healthy for life, through innovative and entertaining, solution driven programming.
In addition to her passion for health and nutrition, Lynn loves tennis, poodles, Pilates, and piano! (Her two poodles, Max and Alex, are pet health nuts! They especially love omega-3 fish oil, Happy Hips treats, and Paul Newman’s peanut butter biscuits.)
Lynn is also an advocate for children’s health and nutrition. Here’s why …
Nutrients save lives. One third of all childhood deaths are caused by malnutrition. An estimated 147 million children suffer from vitamin A deficiency (VAD) worldwide, a major underlying cause of child mortality and blindness around the world. However, vitamin A capsules can prevent VAD blindness and reduce child mortality. According to UNICEF, 18,000,000 babies are born mentally impaired, each year! A top reason is iodine deficiency. Over two billion people worldwide are low in essential nutrients for life.
For young children, essential nutrients build their foundation for life. But children who suffer from vitamin deficiencies are unable to reach their potential. New and expecting mothers, and children under five are the most vulnerable. That’s because they often have an even greater need for vitamins and minerals. They are more adversely affected by deficiencies—particularly of vitamin A, iron, iodine, zinc, and more. Multivitamins for children and pregnant and lactating women provide key nutrients for a broad range of functions … essential to good health.
Lynn also has a heart for disadvantaged children and orphans who grow up without a family. Approximately 143 million children are orphaned worldwide according to UNICEF. After “aging out” of orphanages and state institutions (as young as 14, 15, and 16), an estimated 60% of girls turn to prostitution and 70% of boys to crime. For these orphans, the opportunity for successful, independent living remains a distant dream.
To reach out for orphans, the underprivileged, and others in need, Lynn supports the following non-profit organizations, including:
- CBN WorldReach
- Orphan’s Promise
- Operation Blessing
- Vitamin Angels
These organizations provide free health care, clean safe drinking water, disaster relief, surgeries, meals and nutrients to make a very real difference in the lives of vulnerable people. For example, millions of children are suffering with unrepaired clefts. Most cannot eat or speak properly. They aren’t allowed to attend school or hold a job. And face very difficult lives filled with shame and isolation, pain and heartache. The good news is every single child with a cleft can be helped with surgery that costs as little as $250 and takes as little as 45 minutes. And some amazing work is being done by generous doctors from around the world.
Through health education, nutritional supplementation, money, and other forms of support, Lynn is committed to bringing value into people’s lives.
